Last weekend our show “Far Away So Close” came to an end.
I wasn’t able to participate as fully as I would have liked to, but according to reports we had a lot of positive feedback.
Hopefully our group will continue to exhibit in various forms from now on.

今回は残念ながら本格的に参加することを出来なかったけど、お客さんからの評価は良かったそうです。

Apologies for the lack of activity recently.
We returned to England for a month and since then work and family business has kept me very busy.
On top of that my computer died taking some of my artwork along with it…
Anyway, here at last is the finished colour version of “Tatargami” that I introduced a few months ago.
I am currently exhibiting this piece and a few others here in Takamatsu as part of a group art show entitled “Far Away So Close”. It features the work of foreign artists living in my area as well some of our Japanese friends. Many diciplines are represented and I think it makes for a very interesting show.
The exhibition is being held at Salon De Rubis from October 24th until November 27th.

長らくごぶさたしていました。。
夏に一ヶ月ほどイギリスに帰っていたのと、その後もずっと仕事やプライベートな事で忙しかったうえに
パソコンが完全に壊れてしまって、作品データの一部も消えてしまった。
今回この前紹介した「祟り神」の完成品をやっとアップします。
現在高松市内でグループ展示会に参加していて、この作品も出しています。
今回の展示会は香川県に住んでいる外国人と知り合いの日本人アーティストによるもので、タイトルは「Far Away So Close」。色んな分野の作品が展示されているので凄く面白いショーになると思う。
ルビー商会の「Salon De Rubis」で１０月２４日～１１月２７日まで開催されています。もし機会があれば是非寄ってください。詳細は以下のポストカードに。

Here is a custom I did a few months ago of VinsArt’s Ape-Paper.
My design is called “Profondo Rosso” (a nod to the horror theme and the fact that Vins is Italian).
I used Photoshop for this one, as a more realistic approach seemed to fit the model better.

My latest illustration is taking so long to complete that I thought I would show a work-in-progress image to prove I am actually doing some artwork this year!
Here is the line work and I am currently working on the colouring.
The working title is “Tatarigami”.

Here is my latest paper toy custom for Ivan Ricci aka Kawaii-Style.
This is my version of Ivan’s “Kikoo” and is imaginatively titled “Spider Monkey”.
Kikoo was a fun base to work with and the whole design of the finished model is very innovative.

This ladies’ man was designed by photographer Garrison Beau Scott aka baykiddead, and is appropriately titled “chick.magnet”.

Here are my 2 latest customs for the 4th (and possible final) Batch of Josh McKible’s Nanibirds.
This time Josh managed to assemble 40 fantastic designs from around the world.
As usual with my Nanibird customs I went overboard and made a pair. These 2 are called “Esoteric Day” and “Esoteric Night”. As the title would suggest I went and covered them with as many esoteric and occult signs and symbols as I could.
They are however not completely random and I did quite a lot of research to make sure that everything I used is not just nonsense.
As you can see they also fit together by virtue of a Master Mason’s handshake.

今回Joshさんは色んな国から見事なデザインを４０個も集めました。
僕はまたまた１個だけではなく、２個のセットを作ってしまった。
タイトルは「Esoteric Day」と「Esoteric Night」。
文字の通り（Esoteric＝奥義、秘伝など）神秘的なシンボルだらけにした。
しかし、ちゃんとシンボルの意味も研究したので、完全に適当というわけではない。
２個を組み合わせたら、フリーメーソンの「秘密の握手」をする。

To celebrate the launch of the amazing new book Papertoy Monsters which features 2 designs by yours truly, Workman Publishing has dubbed January 25th Paper Monster Day. The author of the book paper-pal Castleforte and Workman have come up with all kinds of things to promote the book. Here is a sample:
My contribution to the book is the 2 monsters below “Lord Leonard” and “Lambert”.
They slot together to form a rather nifty desk tidy.
