  � 次に紹介したいEdward “Lucky” McKee監督の� 画は「The Woods」。 この� 画は残念なことに上� されることなく直接DVDとして発売された。 その割には、凄く質が高くて出演者全員の演技が� 晴らしい！ The Woodsはもう少し伝統的なホラー� 画で、森の中の全寮制女子� �を舞台にしてる。 テーマ的にはホラーというより魔法の話に近くて、1960年代を舞台にしている� けに、その時代のイギリスホラー� 画を思い出させる。 セットやコスチュー� など全て完璧。そしてボーナスとして、伝説のホラー役者Bruce Campbell（死霊のはらわた等）が特別ゲスト出演している！ Lucky氏はこの間紹介したホラーシリーズMasters of Horrorにも１エピソードを監督している。 話によると、去年の年末辺りにMayの続編のような� 画「Roman」がリリースされたらしい。 ま� 見てないけど、興味深いことに今回Lucky氏が主人公を演じ、監督はなんとMayを演じたAngela Bettis。 � The second feature film that I have seen by the director “Lucky” McKee is The Woods.   � 今まで何回も｢1円スタート｣というネットオークションを見てきた。 毎回入札してしまうけど、毎回がっかりする結果になる。 オークションの終了日が近づくと、値段が段々と上がっていって、しょっちゅうアイテ� の定価より高い値段で落札される… しかし！今回は大当たりを� した！ 本当は僕のおもちゃ買い物リストに入ってなかったが、たまたまオークションで見つけて、1円� ったら何でもいいと思った。 終了日が来たら、いつものオークションスナイパー(?)が現れて、どうせ僕の目の前で盗まれてしまうと思った。 しかし、結局現れずにオークションがス� ーズに済んで、1円のVans Action Dudeの飼い主になってしもうた！ Dudeをもらってから、フィギュアのデザインが面白くて、実際に好きになってきた。このフィギュアは香港の人気デザイナーElphonso Lam（エレフォンソラウ）の作品で、米スニーカーメーカVans（ヴァンズ）社の販売促進用の限定品となる。 Dudeは全体的にレトロな雰囲気を出してる。手と足がフワフワで、� �がフロック� 工されてて、でかい70年代のスケボ－に乗っているから、かなりユニークなフィギュア� と思う。その上1円で手に入ったので、僕のコレクションの中で既に特別な存在になった。 � I cannot count the number of times I have seen internet auctions that start at 1 yen or 1 cent.　Every time I am tempted to put in a bid, even though it always ends [...]

  僕の最新のイラスト「Bedlam」（混乱）を紹介します。 今まで僕の作品は大体Ａ４サイズ以下でしたけど、今回はもうちょっと大きいやつに挑戦したかった。 Ａ３は言うほどでかいわけではないけど、このサイズだったらもっと細かい絵を描ける（描かなければならない？）と思った。 最初に描いたキャラクターは真ん中のやつ。あいかわらず最初はもっとグロテスクなものを想像してたけど、出来上がりを見たら結局パステルカラーの可愛いパーティーみたいになってしまった…。 最近色んな素晴らしいアーティストの作品に次々と出会って…、もっともっと腕を磨かなくちゃと思っている。 決して満足しないということは、もしかしてアーティストの原動力になるのかも。 Here is my latest illustration entitled “Bedlam”.
