This week I would like to introduce Japanese pen and ink artist Sadam.
Though not as well known as Usugrow and the like, Sadam seems to be equally proficient.
Beautiful and intricate black and white imagery.

Sadam has produced some album covers and also seems to be heavily involved in the skate scene.

僕はサダムは「USUGROW」などのより知名度の高い日本人アーティストと同じぐらい上手いと思う。
彼の作品は細かくて美しい白黒ペンとインクイラスト。

バンドのアルバムジャケット、Ｔシャツなどが多く、スケボーシーンにも深い関係を持っているようです。

Recently I have been putting most of my artistic efforts into papercraft and as such decided to launch a new mini-site to house all future papercraft projects. The site is called Horrorwood Hills.

Along with the site I have launched my attempt at a simple platform toy called “Snake Eyes”.
The first series of Snake Eyes called “Finders Keepers” is now available for free download.

Next up will be a series of designs in my more usual illustrative style, and then an artist series featuring designs contributed by some very exciting guest artists.

最近ペーパークラフトに力を注いでいるので、これからのプロジェクト用に新ミニサイトを立ち上げることにした。
サイト名は「Horrorwood Hills」。

新サイトと同時に新ペーパークラフト「Snake Eyes」もリリースした。
このクラフトはシリーズものになっていて、とてもシンプルなベースに色んなデザインを載せて行くというコンセプト。

第１シリーズは「Finders Keepers」（諺：「拾ったものは自分のもの」）。
このシリーズは全５デザイン。全てのデザインは写真サイトFlickrから拾った写真を利用している。
拾ったと言っているけど、全ての写真はクリエイティブ・コモンズというライセンスの元で提供されている（詳細）。

Here are a couple more sketches that I came up with recently.
These are a little more detailed than my previous efforts and I am continuing to try out the “dot technique” and explore textures.
If you are careful and inventive I think that a lot can be done with just a pen.
I still have a long way to go but I’m enjoying doing some “real” drawing again.

最近描いたスケッチを２枚紹介します。
前アップしたやつより細かくしてみた。「ドット」のテクニックで色々試して、どういうテクスチャー(質感）が出来るかを実験している。
色々工夫して丁寧に描いて行ったら、黒ペンだけで幅広い作品を生み出せると思う。
僕のテクニックはまだまだ未熟だけど、「本当の絵描き」を久しぶりに楽しんでいる。
