Here are 3 more illustrations that I recently completed.
First up is “Dawn of the Plaid”, my favourite of the bunch.
I became a little obsessed with creating tartan patterns a while back and this is the result.
I created all of the patterns used in the piece from scratch.

Next is my second “Death Mask”.
This one was supposed to be South American in theme but ended up looking more North American.

Lastly “Best Fiends”.
This is my first attempt at illustrating directly on a photo.
I am not wholly satisfied with the results but is was a good exercise nonetheless.

最近描いたイラストを３枚紹介します。
最初は個人的に一番気に入っている「Dawn of the Plaid」。
この間タータン・チェックにはまったしまった結果がこれ。
ちなみにこのイラストに使っているパターンは全部自分のオリジナル。

次は２番目の「Death Mask」。
実は南米の雰囲気を出したかったけど、最終的に北米的なものになった。

最後は「Best Fiends」。
このイラストで初めて写真に直接キャラクターを描いてみた。
何かちょっと物足りない感じ気がするけど、このテクニックを試すいい練習になった。

My good friend Craig’s band Eenik have been working on their first album for the last 5 years.
The hard work has finally paid off and their debut “Oddomatic” was released last month.
You can listen to/purchase the album by visiting the band’s homepage here.
Eenik’s music is an eclectic mix of many styles and I can guarantee that you have never heard anything like it before.
In celebration of the release I created the poster above for the band.
This image should make it on to a t-shirt soon.
I will hopefully be working a lot with the band from now on and am looking forward to trying out many new styles.

僕の親友Craigのバンド「Eenik」は5年間年の努力の末、先月初アルバムをやっとリリースした。
タイトルは「Oddomatic」で、バンドのホームページで試聴/購入することが出来る。
Eenikの音楽には幅広いスタイルが含まれて、きっと聞いたことないサウンドだと思う。
アルバムのリリースを記念して、僕は上のポスターを描いた。
近々Ｔシャツにしてくれるらしいので、楽しみにしている。
これからEenikと色んなコラボをする予定で、色んなアートスタイルも試してみたい。

The final wave of Calling All Cars is almost ready for launch.
Before I push the button, here is an introduction to the featured artists and their cars.

First up is a rather smooth skeleton from my friend and fellow Gravity member Yasushi Hamada.
Yasushi is usually known for his intricate skull-and-bone-based jewelry and he has applied the same asthetic to this car.

Next we have another funky French number in the form of “Kenny” by illustrator Julien “Fasmer” Gendron.
Julien has an awesome portfolio of work that can be seen on his blog here.

Number 3 needs no introduction. This is another homage to a famous car, this time KITT from Knight Rider.
A simple but very effective design from paper artist Zerolabor.
Zerolabor’s papercraft creations can be found here.

Following close behind is this colourful introduction to Indonesian culture from Idham Mahardhika.
This car is modeled on the “angkot”, a form of transport found in Bandung, Indonesia.
Idham had many fantastic paper creations that can be seen here.

Lastly we have a humourous but rather reckless driver named Horrorzozz from artist KNGL.
KNGL produces all kinds of toys and customs that can be seen on his blog here.

「Calling All Cars」の最後のシリーズをそろそろリリースする予定。
その前に今回フィーチャーされるアーティストと作品を紹介する。

一台目は僕の友人でGravityのメンバーの濱田靖士によるお洒落な骸骨。
普段濱田くんは凄く細かい骨型のシルバーアクセサリーを作っていて、同じタッチをこの作品に応用。

次はフランス人イラストレーターJulien “Fasmer” Gendronのファンキーなキャラクター「Kenny」。
Julienは幅広く色んな素晴らしい作品を作っているので是非彼のブログを見てください。

三番目の車は説明は要らないかも？アメリカ80年代のヒットシリーズ「ナイトライダー」の「KITT」。
KITTは高性能人工知能を搭載したドリーム・カーなので運転手は必要ない！
ペーパーアーティスト「Zerolabor」によるシンプルで面白いデザイン。

四台目はインドネシアの「Idham Mahardhika」のカラフルな作品。本場の雰囲気が満タン！
この車は実際に存在するバンドン市の独特な乗物「angkot」をベースにした。
Idhamのブログでは色んな素敵なオリジナルペーパークラフトが紹介されている。

最後はアーティストKNGLによるユーモアたっぷりのちょっと危ないドライバー。
KNGLはペーパークラフトだけではなくて、プラスチックのおもちゃなども作っている。
