I present to you my latest custom project “Démons de Papier”.
For this series I invited 4 wonderful French artists to customize my Paper Demon toy.
Each model also includes a unique backdrop to make a complete diorama.

I have had this project in the pipeline for quite some time, but have only just managed to bring it all together. Many apologies to all the artists involved for the delay, but I really think it was worth the wait.

4人のフランス人アーティストに僕の「Paper Demon」クラフトをカスタムして頂いた。
今回はキャラクターだけではなくて、それ用の背景も作ってもらった。

このプロジェクトは昔から計画をしていたのに、完成にはなぜかかなり時間かかりました。
なので参加アーティストに謝るらなければいけない思う。
しかし、素晴らしいシリーズになったので本当に待ったかいがあった。

Here is my latest illustration entitled “Oddomatic”.
Some of you may remember that this is the same title as my friend’s band Eenik’s debut album.

Though this piece was not done directly for the band, I ran with the word Oddomatic to see where it would take me. As you can see the result is a rather messy box of cereal, spilling muck and free gifts onto the breakfast table.

This one took me quite a long time, but I am very pleased with the result.
Hopefully this one will also turn into a poster or appear on a T-shirt at some point.

最新のイラストを紹介します。タイトルは「Oddomatic」。
実は友人のバンド「Eenik」のデビューアルバムと同じタイトル。
これは直接バンドのために描いたわけではないけど、「Oddomatic」という言葉（造語）から何が浮かんで来るか、という実験でした。
出来上がったのが、このちょっぴり汚いシリアルの箱。
朝ごはんのテーブルの上に色んなゴミとおまけの玩具が落ちて来る。
このイラストはかなり時間かかったけど、いい結果が出たと思う。
これもいつかポスターかＴシャツにする予定。

Here’s a little Valentine treat in the form of a special couple of cars.
First up is this war vet entitled “I Just Want a Rockinchair” from French artist Scott Charron.
Scott has a multitude of cute and creepy things to download on his homepage “Little Paper Life”.

Secondly we have a loveable croc sporting his favourite soccer team’s shirt.
This is from Indonesian artist Shoffi Lazuardi and gets about as much as possible out of the A4 sheet.

Not very romantic admittedly, but some lovely designs nonetheless.

Horrorwoodからのバレンタイン・ギフトとして、スペシャルな車を2台紹介します。
最初はフランスのアーティストScott Charronによる少しかわいそうな帰還兵。
Scottのホームページでは色々な怖可愛いクラフトをダウンロード出来ます。

次は大好きなサッカーチームのシャツを着ている、可愛らしいワニさん。
Ａ４紙をぎりぎりのところまで使われている、このデザインはインドネシアのShoffi Lazuardiのもの。

どちらもロマンチックな感じではないけど、とにかく素敵なデザイン。

I was once again kindly invited to contribute to the brilliant I Want Your Skull magazine by Ryan August.
This time however was extra special for me because Ryan offered me an interview and I created an original paper toy that is included as a gift with the magazine.
My craft is called Skull King and there are 5 different colourways that are distributed randomly.
I tried to design the craft so it would look equally attractive as a flat print that could be hung on the wall.
Issue 8 of IWYS includes 35 pages of artwork by some amazing artists and is limited to 250 copies.

Ryan Augustから雑誌「I Want You Skull」のために特別なペーパークラフトを作るという招待を頂いた。
そして今回はそれだけではなく僕のインタビューも載るということで、凄く嬉しかった。
クラフトのテーマはもちろんスカル。作品名はスカル・キング。
全部で5種類の色違いバージョンがあり、その中の1枚（色はランダム）が付録として入っています。
でも付録を切ってしまうなんてもったいないと思う人は、そのままデザインとして飾ることも出来ます。
雑誌では今回も世界の色んなアーティストの作品を紹介しています。

Here are 2 more pieces that I did for my friend’s band Eenik.
The first one turned out to be some kind of Samurai.
Again, I got some feedback from the band which helped create a much better end result.
I adjusted a few elements and changed the colour scheme to neon which I think works surprisingly well.

The second piece was more of an experiment in new techniques.
I reworked an old unfinished illustration and tried out some dirt and paint effects.
The logo at the bottom was created by my friend front-man Craig and will probably be used by the band from now on.
This one will probably not be used by the band but it was a good experiment nonetheless.

A few days ago I received a physical copy of Eenik’s new album “Oddomatic”.
The artwork on the case is fantastic and was also created by Craig.
I of course highly recommend the album. You can listen to a sample and purchase directly from the band’s blog.

アメリカ人の親友Craigのバンド「Eenik」のためにさらに2枚のイラストを描いた。
最初はこちらの侍らしいデザイン。
今回もバンドからフィードバックを頂いたので、いくつかの変更した。
Craigのお勧めのネオン色が意外といい感じだと思う。

2枚目は新しいテクニックを試すための実験だった。
昔描いた未完成のイラストを書き直して、色んな汚れ加工を使って見た。
ちなみに下の方のロゴはCraigがデザインしたもので、多分これからバンドの正式ロゴになる。
最終的にはきっとこのイラストは使わないと思うけど、いい実験になった。

先週Craigから新アルバムのCDを頂いた。
ジャケットのアートは全てCraigがデザインして、凄くいい感じ。
もちろん音楽もお勧め。バンドのホームページで試聴/購入することが出来る。

Here is another papercraft custom that I completed at the end of last year.
This is Gubi-Gubi designed by Malaysian artist Harold P. Ringgingon aka Pain Killah Art.
My custom is called “New Flesh”.
I was going for a new (more colourful) look and am pretty pleased with the result.
My toy is part of the Christmas 2009 series and can be downloaded directly from Harold’s blog here.

去年の最後の方に完成したカスタム。タイトルは「New Flesh」。
マレーシアのアーティスト「Harold P. Ringgingon」(別名Pain Killah Art）に依頼されたので
彼のシリーズ「Gubi-Gubi」にデザインしてみた。2009年のクリスマスシリーズとしてリリースされました。
今回はもっとカラフルなデザインに挑戦してみた。結果はかなりいい感じと思ってます。

This time we have a wonderfully unique 3 wheeler from multi-talented Italian artist Vins.
Apparently the driver is based on Vins himself.

Here are 3 more illustrations that I recently completed.
First up is “Dawn of the Plaid”, my favourite of the bunch.
I became a little obsessed with creating tartan patterns a while back and this is the result.
I created all of the patterns used in the piece from scratch.

Next is my second “Death Mask”.
This one was supposed to be South American in theme but ended up looking more North American.

Lastly “Best Fiends”.
This is my first attempt at illustrating directly on a photo.
I am not wholly satisfied with the results but is was a good exercise nonetheless.

“Dawn of the Plaid” and “Death Mask 2″ are both available as prints from my Society 6 shop.
最近描いたイラストを３枚紹介します。
最初は個人的に一番気に入っている「Dawn of the Plaid」。
この間タータン・チェックにはまったしまった結果がこれ。
ちなみにこのイラストに使っているパターンは全部自分のオリジナル。

次は２番目の「Death Mask」。
実は南米の雰囲気を出したかったけど、最終的に北米的なものになった。

最後は「Best Fiends」。
このイラストで初めて写真に直接キャラクターを描いてみた。
何かちょっと物足りない感じ気がするけど、このテクニックを試すいい練習になった。
