Gordo an the Greenbacks

Eccentric billionaire Maxwell Bags adores his pet orangutan Gordo and despises his weasel of a son Percy who is always after his bucks. One day Bags meets with a tragic death. All of his family members and staff (including Gordo of course) are called solemnly into Bags' study in order to hear what has been left to each of them in the will. The bespectacled lawyer in the pinstripe suit runs down the list starting with the smaller gifts for the staff. Percy glares at the others in the room and mutters to them all "Well you know who's gonna get all the dough. There's gonna be a new boss round here very soon!" Just then the lawyer draws a deep breath and says: "Finally I bequeath the majority of my vast fortune to... Gordo, my faithful orang-utan butler!" There are gasps around the room. On hearing the unbelievable news Percy flies into a fit of rage and storms out of the mansion swearing that he will get revenge on "the dumb ape".

Now the fun really begins! Gordo is duly dressed up in Bags' finest top hat and tails (cut to size), he rides around in the stretch limo and attends all kinds of fancy events with his gold cane in hand. All the staff love Gordo and he is a big hit at all the charity events that Bags used to attend. In the evening Gordo lounges in the Jacuzzi smoking cigars and then goes down to the safe to frolic in all the money.

Of course Percy is not amused and spends the remainder of the story trying to get revenge on the ape. His plots include trying to frame Gordo for some misdemeanour and getting him picked up by the dog catcher. However Gordo of course wins out in each case and makes Percy look like a fool, drenching him with a soda fountain or leaving him languishing in a cage at the zoo.
